Frequently Asked Questions

About Roll4Rights

Does Roll4Rights Handle Auction Funds?

No, Roll4Rights does not handle any funds. Donations are made directly to the charities by the auction winners.

How Does Roll4Rights Select The Charities For These Auctions?

We select the beneficiaries of our auctions by looking at their impact statements and available financials. We specifically look for charities that spend the majority of the funds they raise on action that directly affects individuals in the communities they serve.

Where Does Roll4Rights Get The Prizes For These Auctions?

The prizes for our auctions are contributed by members of the TTRPG community, from all over the world! It's their generosity that makes these events possible.

If you are interested to contribute a prize for a future event, you can reach out to our Procurement Team at communications@roll4rights.org.

How Can I Help Roll4Rights To Keep Hosting These Events?

You can find our ko-fi page at https://ko-fi.com/roll4rights/ for both donations and to purchase Roll4Rights merchandise. All proceeds go toward helping us keep this website and other logistical operations running. Thank you for thinking of us! :)

I Have A Question For The Roll4Rights Team, How Can I Get In Touch?

You can get in touch with the Roll4Rights team directly by using our website's contact form, by reaching out via email at contact@roll4rights.org, or on our socials @roll4rights.

The Auction Process

How Do I Place A Bid?

First, sign up for an account using your name and email address. Then, click "bid now" on any listing you are interested in.

You'll have the option to place an individual bid, or to set a maximum bid, which will autobid for you following the minimum bid increment when someone else bids less than your maximum amount.

How Can I Tell Which Prizes Can Be Shipped To Me?

Click on your location in the dropdown list that appears when you open the auction page. This will sort the listings by what is able to ship to you. You can find this dropdown again by clicking the "Delivery Location" filter at the top of the auction page.

Our auctions include makers from all over the world, which means that not every listing can ship anywhere. Please take care to bid only on items that can ship to you!

What Happens If I Am Outbid?

You'll get an email to let you know you've been outbid. From there, you can either increase your bid, or do nothing and forfeit the prize to the highest bidder.

If the winner of an auction fails to pay within 24 hours and you're the next highest bidder, you'll have the opportunity to donate to receive the prize at your highest bid.

How Do I Track Items I've Bid On?

We have a page dedicated to bids and winning information. You can visit this page by click this link or navigating under the Auction tab, clicking Bids & Winnings, and going to the Following tab on that page to see a list of all your bids.

At the end of the auction, any items you have the highest bid on will move to the Ready for Checkout tab. Please be patient. It does take a second for the items to populate on that page once the auction completes.

How Will I Know When The Auction Has Ended?

Listings will be marked as closed when the auction as a whole has ended and two minutes have passed since the last bid was placed. If a bid is placed within the final seconds of an auction, two more minutes will be added to the listing's timer to prevent bidders from winning via a last-minute bid.

If you are the highest bidder when the auction has ended, you'll receive an email with information on what to do next.

How Can I Learn More About The Makers Who Contributed The Auction Prizes?

We list our prize contributors' social media handles and websites in their listings' information. You can also visit our Contributors page under the About Us tab to see a list of all the makers who have contributed to our events so far.

After The Auction Has Ended

I Won An Auction. What Are My Next Steps?

You'll get an email from Roll4Rights with information on how to make your donation and receive your prizes. (This email may go to spam, so if it isn't in your inbox, make sure to check there too!)

You will have 24 hours to make your donation before we will move on to the next highest bidder.

What If I Miss The 24 Hour Donation Window?

To maintain fairness for all auction participants, we cannot make exceptions to our 24 hour payment deadline. Emailing or messaging Roll4Rights will not extend this deadline. You will receive a reminder email 12 hours before the window to donate closes.

If you are unable to donate before 24 hours have passed, we will move on to the next highest bidder.

What If I Win A Prize That Doesn't Ship To Me?

If you win a prize that doesn't ship to you, do not make your donation and contact us immediately. We will move on to the next highest bidder. If you have already made your donation, it cannot be refunded.

What If I Can't Pay For A Prize I Won?

If you are unable to pay for a prize you won, we will move on to the next highest bidder. If this happens more than once, the website will ban you from participating in future auctions.

This does not apply if you are contacted as the next highest bidder for an auction and are unable to pay. We understand that being outbid often means a bidder will move on to bid on other listings.

When Will I Receive My Prize(s)?

Our prize contributors have a 2 week deadline to ship their items after receiving their winners' shipping information, but they often ship sooner.

If you have not received tracking for your item after this deadline or your item has failed to arrive, please contact us through our contact form, via email at contact@roll4rights.org, or on our socials @roll4rights. We will make it right.

Is My Donation Tax Deductible?

Absolutely! Unless the charity's donation page gave you the option to forego tax deduction and include those funds in the donation itself, your donation can be written off on your taxes.

Can I Donate Even If I Didn't Win?

Of course you can! All of the causes we choose to benefit from our events are more than worthy of whatever you're able to contribute. If you click the 'donate' button in the top right corner of the site, you'll be taken to a page with instructions for how to make your donation.
